The first Capozzoli Family Reunion was held on July 17, 1983, in Oyster Bay, New York. Five of the first generation of Capozzoli family members were represented. These were Luigi Capozzoli and Maddalena Peduto’s children; Emily, Adeline, Joseph, Mary, and Rose. John was unable to make the trip from California that year.  There were 24 representatives from the “2nd generation” and cousins by the dozens.

The second Capozzoli Family Reunion was held on July 15, 1984, also in Oyster Bay, New York. This reunion included the same family members but John A. Capozzoli was able to attend this year as the sixth member of the first generation. Three weeks prior to the reunion, John married Anne Gathman, his second wife. John was 86 years old at the time! Anne was a close friend to many of the Capozzoli family members who resided in Whitestone, N.Y. The “newlyweds” were honored at this reunion with wedding cake. John’s sons, Louis and John, also attended the reunion.

The sixth annual Capozzoli Family Reunion was held on July 16, 1988, in Oyster Bay, New York. Four of the first generation of Capozzoli family members were represented. Fourteen of the twenty second generation members were in attendance. The reunion had approximately 10o family members participating in the conversations, trips down memory lane, meeting new family members, and eating an abundance of food. Family came from all over the United States for this reunion.
